However, we don't live in a perfect world, which is why all cheerleading squads must engage in some fundraising activities in order to continue cheering.

Cheerleading fundraising has come a long way since car washes and bake sales, though those are still two perfectly decent ways of making a little extra money for a cheerleading squad. However, these days many squads are becoming a little more creative with their cheerleading fundraising ideas by receiving some assistance from friendly neighborhood local business owners.

Some squads like to hold an annual fashion show, with clothing donated from local stores and raffled off at the end of the show. By charging a dollar for entrance, as well as selling baked goods and beverages, a cheerleading squad can raise hundreds of dollars in an afternoon and have fun doing it!

Another great cheerleading fundraising idea is to hold a bottle drive. Bottle drives make the most money when they are held after a long weekend like Memorial Day. A week before the drive, send out flyers to residents in the area informing them when the cheerleaders will be coming by to pick up the bottles. It's best to hold the bottle drive on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, as that's when most people are home. In lieu of bottles, people can also give small cash donations.

Here Comes the Pudding!

When it comes to cheerleading fundraising, sometimes the craziest ideas are the best ones because they get people's attention. While baseball teams are famous for their dunk tanks and pie tosses, some cheerleading squads like to hold pudding slings. For a small cash donation, people can throw handfuls of chocolate, butterscotch, vanilla, or pistachio pudding at their favorite (or least favorite member) of the cheerleading squad. This fundraising activity works well in conjunction another larger-scale activity like a spring Carnival or cash wash.

Spirit Stars and Balloons

Many cheerleading squads like to hold fundraising activities that get everyone in the school involved. One easy and inexpensive fundraising activity is to make a large number of stars from construction paper in the school's colors. Decorate the stars with glitter or stickers for added flair, and sell the stars for one or two dollars each to decorate the gym before a big game. When a person buys a star, they can write their name on it as a display of their school spirit.

Here's another fun and easy high school cheerleading fundraising activity that gets everyone involved called "Balloon Tag". This activity requires a large number of balloons inflated with helium so that they float. The cheerleaders set up a table in a common area and sell the balloons for one dollar each. When a person buys a balloon they tag it to someone, and that person must wear the balloon tied to their clothes for the remainder of the day. If they want, they can pay a dollar to tag the balloon to someone else. Don't forget to include the teachers on this one!

Sandra-Leigh Washington has developed a unique approach to coaching cheerleading, to learn more please visit her website:

How To Coach Cheerleading

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Sandra-Leigh_Washington

Fundraising For Cheerleading - How To Raise Funds For Your Team

By Howard Haines

Being a cheerleader is not just about looking pretty in your uniform. A cheerleader has the responsibility to take care of her team and provide support for it. If you happen to be one of those cheerleaders that are tasked to raise some funds either for the team or for some other worthy causes, you should gather some new ideas about fundraising for cheerleading. Note that new ideas about fundraising for cheerleading can generate more funds for the team.

Getting Started

Washing cars is a good idea but there are actually better ways of fundraising for cheerleading than the traditional cash washing thing. Besides, washing cars will only generate a few hundred dollars at most and this may not really be enough to fund for your cheerleading activities. If you are really interested in raising more funds for the team, try to think out of the box and do something unique for a change. For instance, you can start a website for the squad and earn some money from advertising.

If your team can come up with a really good website and drive enough traffic to it everyday, your team can earn a good deal of money from advertisers. Note that there are a lot of small business in your community that are willing to pay advertising space specifically if your website is already generating good amount of traffic everyday. What is really more interesting about fundraising for cheerleading on the net is that you can reach a lot of people for a minimum amount of effort on your part.

Aside from putting up a website as part of your fundraising for cheerleading activities, you can come up with some unique ideas such as selling flowers during special occasions. Contact a florist in your area and talk to him or her about the possibility of earning commissions from delivering flowers especially during Valentines Day. Since you are cheerleaders, it would be a lot easier for you to convince your schoolmates to buy some flowers from you.

If you have some stuff in your place that you do not need, you and your team members can put up a rummage sale. You can collect some stuff from people you know to include in your rummage sale. A lot of people will thank you for taking off some of their unwanted stuff that they will just give these things to you and your team for free.

For more information on fundraising do visit http://www.fundraisingideas.com.cn a website that specializes in providing fundraising ideas

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Howard_Haines

How To Have A Successful Charity Fund Raising Event

By Peter Crump

If you’re thinking of starting a charity fund raising event, then you probably know all the most obvious questions that you should be asking yourself. These include why this non profit charity fund raising needs to exist or who will help run the fund raising event. You need to have a clear idea of the scope of what the fund raising will be used for and where the fund raising event will take place. If you have the answers to all these things, then you’re well on your way to making your dream a reality.

Now that you know what your goals are for your charity fund raising there are some technical issues that you might encounter. These are such things as whether your charity requires a non-profit corporation. Non profit fundraising means receipts for tax deductible contributions. Your non-profit fund raising also has to support a legitimate charity. You also need to have non-profit exempt status so that your charity does not have to pay taxes on the money raised. If you qualify for this tax exemption then you better be prepared to have a lot of paperwork because you’ll need to keep all records of everything.

For non profit fund raising to be legitimate, you really do need a board of directors. When you’re choosing board members for your non profit charity fundraising, you have to choose wisely. Charity fund raising board members can come from any background but there are some points to keep in mind. Each should bring a special ability with them and it is very important that they are committed to your purpose. Try to find people that are fairly low key in your community. These will be the ones that are interested in your non profit fund raising.

This board will set the rules of the non profit organization but they will also be responsible and accountable in a lot of things in the non-profit fundraising. They will have to make the policies, budgeting, planning, the non profit fund raising itself, and human resources. Your non profit charity fund raising also needs an executive director. This job will require a skilled person and when you decide on this position for charity fund raising, he/she should have the freedom to lead the rest and do what is best for your non- profit fund raising.

So as you can see depending on the size of your charity fund raising, it is going to be a job in itself to get set up. There will be a lot of work for everyone involved with the non profit fund raising, but it will be worth while when you accomplish your goal at the end.

You need to know your goals if you are doing some charity fund raising.

For a website totally devoted to Fundraising visit Peter's Website Fundraising Answers and find out about Church Fundraising as well as Fundraiser Ideas and more, including Cheerleading Fundraising, Cookie Dough Fundraisers and School Fundraisers.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Peter_Crump

Fundraising Ideas 101

By Clark A Swihart

Fundraisers are an excellent way to your help your school or church earn the extra money it needs. After all, it will not be easy to convince someone to part with their hard-earned money. You need to provide them with a very good reason or give an incentive that they cannot refuse!

There are actually a lot of things that one can do for a fundraising campaign with sports in mind. You can sell stuff, provide service or just ask for donations. The list is endless.
Of course, the kind of campaign that you will be instituting will not only generate income for your organization but will also determine the kind of image that you will be projecting to potential donors in years to come.

Yes, although it can be a big pressure especially for first-time organizers, every event and campaign that the organization will do will determine the way people sees the organization. This is why it is important to be able to put a good show.

Below are just some fundraising ideas that you can do for your organization.

Selling is in

Although it may seem that everybody is doing it, selling goods and services is still the best way to raise money for charity. Your product or service will of course depend on the kind of target market that you have and the time of the year that you have organized your fete.
Often, the product is clearly identified with the beneficiary of the project. Examples of products that you can sell for a sports fundraising event are autographed sports gears, caps and T-shirts.

Auction

Another great way to raise money is through an auction, which tweaks the competitive spirit of people. There are actually a host of things that you can hold for auction, from goods to services. One great idea is to auction of people or the service that they can do rather than goods. This way, you won’t have much overhead costs except of course some favors that you and the members of the sports team have called in. Common events like these are auctioning off of dates with players.

Celebrity Cookouts

Another great idea for a fundraiser is a celebrity cookout where players of the team can mingle with the guests. Tickets for the cookout will of course be sold to people to raise funds.
This is one of those events that can kill two birds with one stone— raise funds for the organization or the sports team and create an opportunity for the players to become close to their fans.

Low Jeremy maintains http://fund-raising.articlesforreprint.com This content is provided by Low Jeremy. These resources can in turn be used to keep the group and their projects in operation. At the same time, fundraising can also be a way to advertise and raise awareness regarding the organization and their objectives. Non-profit organizations benefit most from fundraising events, to help them sustain their programs.

If you know where to look, you can find a lot of sources who are willing to support you in your fundraisers. A number of individuals and companies readily support fundraising activities. Grants from various foundations can also help significantly. Even some local governments can be mobilized to help in fundraisers that benefit their localities.

Numerous activities can be made into profitable fundraising events. Asking for solicitations and sponsorships from individuals and groups are valuable ways to generate funds. You can also organize different events as fundraisers, such as raffles, special functions and sports competitions. Selling products, such as chocolates or t-shirts, can also help raise a significant amount of money.

Nowadays, with the ever-changing technology, fundraising has become even easier. Online fundraising is gradually becoming more popular with various non-profit organizations. This is because online fundraising allows you to reach a wider audience at a faster pace and at a much lower cost. Effective online fundraisers include online sales and online auctions, to name a few.

When conducting a fundraiser, it is important to be realistic. Remember that not everybody will be able to help you. Establish goals that are achievable by a specific deadline.

In order to raise funds, it is essential to give your donors and supporters a clear idea of what your organization is and what your goals are. If you keep this in mind, you will surely have a successful fundraiser.

Clark Swihart is the Founder & President of CAS Enterprises, LLC. Car Wash. Gift Wrap. Karaoke Night. Sock Hop. Kids’ Tutorials. All these and more are the creative fund raising ideas that have been repeatedly done in order to generate money for a certain activity planned.

Popcorn Craze is among the creative fund raising ideas that will surely be a major hit. Wondering why? Simply because, this is one of the munchies that people of all ages would adore eating. This is most true when they go to the nearby cinema to watch that movie starring Pretty Woman’s Julia Roberts, Mummy Return’s Rachel Weiss, Legally Blonde’s Reese Witherspoon, Miss Congeniality’s Sandra Bullock or Kill Bill’s Uma Thurman. If you are contemplating of doing such, this can be done at anytime of the year. Here’s a suggestion, look for a place around the metropolis where a film can be shown outdoors. Consider a free huge space where cars can be parked. Ask your members to roam around as they sell it in exciting packs.

Pancake Breakfast is among the creative fund raising ideas that will be unmistakably loved by morning persons. What better way than to jumpstart their day with flour and egg ensembles topped with maple syrup or strawberry jam. Not mention, there is that steaming cup of hot chocolate to go with the healthy meal.

If you are contemplating of doing such, you can scout for an area near the busiest hubs in your domicile where a lot of people are on the rush to arrive in their respective offices. You can task someone to wear a costume suit of any fun character to catch their attention. It is also important to calculate the budget so you can control your expenses. To save more, you meet up with your team and tell them to look for ingredients right in their own cupboards.

Dollar Spare is among the creative fund raising ideas that are getting even more popular. Just come to think of it, a single penny from your daily budget is not that much of a burden. Instead of spending it for something, you can store it up for a greater purpose. You just do not know but that small amount can go a long way. If you are contemplating of doing such, you can forward formal communications to schools and stores asking their permission to put a poster that the students and customers will be aware. As to where they can place the coins, look for as many big, tin cans as possible. Decorate each with how you want it to look.

Wing Fling is among the creative fund raising ideas that are set on an al fresco mood. What sets this apart from its kind is that almost everybody can participate since they can turn out to be the judges of the grilled dishes that are cooked. If you are contemplating of doing such, you can rent a local restaurant for a day. Prepare a program where there can be a competition and let those who watch be the jurors themselves by having to taste it personally. It can be a lot of fun incorporating their youthfulness and excitement into raising money for a project of some sort that they will all benefit from. One type of sorority fund raising can be to hold a community type event like a carnival with booths, face painting and clowns, a dunking booth in which you can persuade town officials or people of importance to be the ones that would be dunked and then you would also sell concessions. With the proper approach, you can get many if not all of the items donated that you will need for your sorority fund raising day.

There are other sorority fund raising ideas that can be a big hit. You can go to local businesses and promote a modeling event in which your sorority will do the modeling of their products and you would get the funds received from the event. You could hold a dinner in which you the sorority prepares or caters and there would be a charge for the entire evening of modeling and fun. You could have little fun skits in between the modeling or provide some local talent as extra entertainment for the evening. Many of the local television and radio stations will offer free publicity to a worthy sorority fund raising event.

Other sorority fund raising ideas can be of course the normal car wash or bake sale but you might want to hire yourselves out to a local business that has some type of event coming up. They would pay your sorority to do the set up, clean up and serving of the event. There are so many more fun and creative ways of raising money, and many of the local businesses will sponsor or donate to a worthy sorority fund raising cause.

For more information on fundraising events and projects for your organization try visiting http://good-fundraising-ideas.com, a website that specializes in providing helpful tips, advice and fundraising resources to include Sorority Fund Raising and more.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tom_Turner

Flea Market Fundraising

By Shauna Hanus

Fundraising is a necessary evil for most non-profit organizations such as churches and small ministries. With just a little bit of imagination the ways to fundraise are endless. Ideally you would receive gifts of sponsorship from your supporters and you would never have to fundraise again. But in the real world fundraising is part of life.

One great way to fundraise is to use the garage sale and flea market model and sell or re-sell items for your fundraiser. Your first step to a fundraiser is to gather together items to be sold at the fundraiser.

These items can be baked goods such a cookies and pies or any type of homemade treat. Other items can be found at local flea markets and garage sales. Often times you can pick up items for a great price and re-sell them for a small profit. Online auction or clearing house websites such as eBay and Overstock are also great ways to buy quality merchandise to sell at your fundraiser. When you are shopping online for bulk items watch for specials on shipping, often you can find no cost shipping or reduced shipping.

If your initial planning budget for your flea market fundraiser has ample funds you can order items like t-shirts, mugs and books with your church or non-profit organizations name and information printed on the it. Then you can sell these items as part of your fundraiser. You will find that these are great sellers for those people who actively support your cause and are wonderfully useful to those who are just learning about your mission.

One thing to keep in mind when holding a fundraiser is you will need to advertise. This can often be done with a very low or no cost expenditure. Local newspapers, radio stations and TV stations will often times advertise for your fundraiser as part of there press release program.
You can also go with the tried and true word of mouth. Tell everyone who is in any way involved in or interested in your non-profit organization that you will be having a fundraiser. Then have them tell one more person. Your fundraiser will surely be full of prospective buyers before you know it.

If you buy low, sell high and have fun your flea market fundraiser is sure to be a success.
Shauna Hanus of http://www.laetans.com builds and maintains fundraising websites for churches and small ministries. But below we provide a number of different ideas that you may want to try for your next fundraising event. However in order to maximize your fundraising event idea to achieve maximum success it is important that you create public awareness of it within the community where you live. It is vital that you tell these people they reason as to why the fundraising event is taking place and where it will be held.

Now let us look at some different fundraising event ideas which you may want to consider.

1. Rubber Duck Derby

This is not only easy to organize but it can be a great fun fundraising event as well. Plus you can scale it down to fit the size of your group's supporter base. However, what you will need is a local waterway in order for this event to take place. As what you will be doing is racing rubber ducks (the same that you had in a bath as a child) and then race them down the local river etc.
What people then do in order to help you raise funds is they sponsor or adopt a particular duck (whether they are named or numbered) and pay you with a chance to winning a price if their duck wins the race. In fact you will find that such a fundraising event has become one of the most profitable types to be used by many charities today.

2. Dog Wash

Well everyone has a car wash but why not do something a little more out of the ordinary. What you need to do in order to set this event up is find a place where lots of people regularly walk their dogs. You will then need to supply your team of volunteers with dog brushes, dog shampoo and water (preferably somewhere close at hand where you can regularly get fresh water from would be ideal). Also along with the dog wash you could sell dog toys and treats, plus other pet related products that you will earn a profit from.

Above we have provided you with two fundraising event ideas that you may want to consider. But if you want to learn more about ideas relating to fundraising events then why not surf the net there are plenty of sites which offer advice and information on fundraising event ideas all you need to do is key in "fundraising event idea" and see what results you get.

For more information on fundraising events and projects for your organization try visiting http://good-fundraising-ideas.com, a website that specializes in providing helpful tips, advice and fundraising resources to include fundraising event idea and more.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tom_Turner

How to Add a Silent Auction to Your Next Fundraiser for Fun and Profits

By Amy Passmore

Silent auctions are often combined with other fundraising events, such as craft fairs, choir and band concerts, and banquets. Anytime a large group of people is together at an event, indoors or out, you can probably have a silent auction and raise money for your organization or charity.

Silent auctions are so named because there is not a live auctioneer holding the auction. Instead, the items to be auctioned are on display with a bid sheet for each item. The auction-goers bid by writing their bid amount on paper. At the end of the auction, all the bid sheets are collected and the high bidder pays for the auction item.

The opening and minimum bids are usually predetermined. Bidding usually starts a one half the retail price of the item. It is a good idea to set minimum bidding increments so that people don't just raise their bids by five cents each time. The higher the dollar value of the item the higher the bidding increment should be. For example, if you are auctioning a pair of airline tickets worth $500 you would start the bidding at $250 with bidding increments set at $10.00. If you have a gift certificate for $40.00 to a hair salon you would start the bidding at $20.00 with a $1.00 increment.

Most of the time the items for the silent auction are donated by members of your organization or by businesses. When you auction donated items your organization will get to keep one hundred percent of the money the item sells for. You can also use donations of money and buy items for the silent auction but you have to make sure you will still make a profit if you buy items. Gift certificates from local businesses are the most popular items for silent auctions. Businesses benefit by getting a tax write-off and the potential for a new customer when they donate to your auction.

You can hold a silent auction with lots of items for bidding or you can even have a silent auction when you have only one item to auction. Depending on your event, the aforementioned airline tickets could be used by themselves for a silent auction.

You can also be creative with your auctions and have a theme. For example you can create themed gift baskets with the items you receive. Baskets can be filled with an assortment of coordinating items. Some possibilities for themes are chocolate lovers, coffee and tea lovers, bath and body, gardening, candles, and sports. Of course, this will require more work from your volunteers in preparing the auction.

Some things to remember when holding a silent auction are:

Make sure your items are displayed attractively and that people have enough room to gather around your display tables.

Have volunteers on hand to help bidders and keep an eye on the items to prevent theft (sadly, it does occur sometimes).

If you have gift certificates as auction items make sure the expiration date gives the buyer a reasonable time to use the certificate.

Announce the end of the bidding and let people have one more chance to bid.

When the bidding is over leave yourself enough time to collect the bids, the money and hand out the items. People are usually ready to leave at the end of an event and do not want to wait around for an hour to receive their item.

Always remember to thank your donors and give them a receipt for tax purposes.

Article by Amy Passmore for DIYFundraising.com. In this article we will look at a number of different ways for raising funds for your church. But before you start any fundraising activities there are a few things that you need to do in order to make it as good and successful as possible.

Select someone from your church to control the fundraising activities. Ideally it should be someone with good organizational skills and is good at getting people to do what is needed. Also get as many volunteers as you can, certainly most church fundraisers will not be short of these and they will need to do everything from setting up tables to selling the goods as well as advertising the event as well.

Below we provide a number of different ideas that you may want to consider for your next church fundraising event.

1. Bake Sale

It is important that you specify to the volunteers who are actually doing the baking as to how much and what it is you actually need. You do not want to end up with 120 different cakes and only 3 pots of jam. These are certainly one of the most tried and tested forms of fundraising around today and is certainly one of the more popular. Plus as all the baked goods will be donated by the churches congregation it is sure to be a money winner.

2. Craft Sale

This is a specially good church fundraising idea especially for around the holiday periods. Certainly you will often find some sort of craft sale taking place during the Christmas period as everyone likes homemade decorations or other little home made jewelry etc., which they can give to others as gifts to their loved ones.

3. Candle Sale

What an even greater idea for a church fundraising event. Not only can the congregation of the church get involved by making their own candles but they could also decorate them as well. You could also look at selling candles at these fundraising events that have different scents for different times of the year. But what is especially good about this is that candles are never hard or expensive to make.

Above we have provided a few church fundraising ideas that you may want to consider. But if you did a search online by keying in "church fundraising idea" you are likely to find even more ideas that would be suitable.

For more information on fundraising events and projects for your organization try visiting http://good-fundraising-ideas.com, a website that specializes in providing helpful tips, advice and fundraising resources to include church fundraising ideas and more.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tom_Turner

Elementary School Fundraising

By Veronica Scott

If you have children, there is the inevitable chance that you will encounter an elementary school fundraiser. It comes with the territory of putting kids through either public or private school. Fundraising can be a great way for parents to help support local schools, expand their child's educational well-being, and increase their child's social skills.

There never seems to be adequate funding available for educational purposes. Holding a fundraiser can help bring in extra revenue so schools can offer additional programs and activities for kids of all ages. Your level of involvement will vary depending on how much you choose to participate in a school fundraiser.

When it comes down to holding the fundraisers, volunteer parent groups, such as the PTA or PTO, are usually the ones left to spearhead the projects. If you find yourself becoming actively involved in a volunteer parent group, you can bet your bottom dollar that you will have to participate in a fundraiser.

But it doesn't have to be the end of the world. In fact, many fundraisers act as a social gathering place for parents and kids alike. It is also a chance for parents to work with their children and find out what their day is like at school. You can meet other children, teachers and school officials by working with a fundraiser.

If you have played a role in an elementary school fundraiser, you may already have a great idea that has been tried and tested successfully. If so, then great! Stick with it because there is no need to fix something that isn't broken. As long as your method continues to raise substantial funds, then there really isn't a strong need to change things up.

Here are just a few ideas to consider for fundraisers:

-Auction off dollhouses
-Auction off kids' artwork
-Hold school carnivals or play days
-Sell specialty items such as candles or flower bulbs
-Host a bake sale or chili supper
-Sell wrapping paper and ribbons around the holidays

But if your school is looking for a new and fresh way to raise money, then there are plenty of options available. The best place to start looking for new ideas is by going to the Internet. There are countless web sites dedicated to elementary school fundraisers that will help spark an idea for your group. You may even find personal testimonies on what projects worked and why they were successful.

It is also important to realize that fundraising takes organization, and your volunteer group needs to maintain that practice in order for your fundraising project to be triumphant. Delving out responsibilities and following up on tasks is essential to successfully raising money.

Another thing to realize if you are holding a fundraiser that sells products is the items need to be of a quality nature. You don't want to pawn off something on your customers and have them disgusted with their purchases. They will remember it the next time you hold a fundraiser and you may find yourself losing paying clients.

Learn more about the fascinating world of miniatures. They can be a lot of fun with the proper planning and in the end they can be very rewarding. Charity fund raising ideas are usually created to help someone or group in need. There are many things that can be done to raise money and they can be extremely fun and filled with a lot of laughs. The planning stages of a fund raiser are very important because it's all about organization and delegation. Many people try to take on a big project by themselves and it is killer to do it that way. I'm not saying it can't be done, I am saying it doesn't have to be all work if you include others in the planning. This article will give some tips on charity fund raising ideas and hopefully some excitingly fun ways to raise money for charity.

Charity fund raising ideas first begin inside someone's heart. The person who will be organizing the fund raising first has a burden for the person or group they are going to raise the money for. In many cases, money is raised for a transplant or operation or illness. It can also be a loss of a home due to a fire or some other freak of nature event. Once the thought of raising money for the person has begun, then the work begins. You need to incorporate others to come on board and catch the burden because the burden is what is going to keep you going. Charity fund raising ideas will be worth the effort in the end, but up to the end it can be very challenging and you will need help and support.

Many charity fund raising ideas begin with getting a celebrity of some type to either be the star performance or just the spokesperson. It doesn't have to be a movie star, it can be a town leader or sheriff of some type. You can do an American idol contest, or just host a dress up event in which the people coming pay for a nice dinner with a little entertainment, or you can have a performer of some type put on some type of show that people come and watch. For other charity fund raising ideas, you could host a ball room dance of some type in which everyone gets to dress up again. People love to dress up for special events. You can also raffle off items and give door prizes away.

Charity fund raising ideas can be an auction of some type or a huge garage sale in which all the items have been donated. These types of things will require a lot of work and organization, but there is money to be made during these events. There are other charity fund raising ideas such as hosting a dinner of some type and having a best men’s legs contest in which no one sees who the man is, or throwing a ball at the bulls eye in which a celebrity is sitting in a dunk tank. There are just so many different charity fund raising ideas that can be done, but remember again do not do something like this all by yourself. I believe that when you do something for charity, you don't have to get all the credit. Remember who the fund raising is for. That is the host of the show. In many cases good charity fund raising ideas will get free publicity. If you are well organized and you believe in what you are doing, then you can get your local television and radio and newspaper to come on board and help you out with the advertising.

For more information on fundraising events and projects for your organization try visiting http://good-fundraising-ideas.com, a website that specializes in providing helpful tips, advice and fundraising resources to include Charity Fund Raising Ideas and more.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tom_Turner

Fundraising Made Fun - Seven Great Fundraiser Ideas for Your School or Church

By Bryan K Johnson

Does your church or school group have an upcoming trip or special event and you need ideas for fundraising? This article explores some of the best and most effective fundraising ideas, that are also FUN and can involve your entire congregation or school. These ideas are tried and true and can be held year after year or in some cases several times per year with great results. We have also tried to focus on some of the newer creative fundraising ideas that involve having your congregation or school create unique items that can be sold at fundraisers. People love hand-crafted gifts and are happy to help with fundraising when they are getting something unique and that will last.

(1) Christmas Wreaths - Easy to Make, Easy to Sell: This can involve your congregation or school getting involved to help make a beautiful looking Christmas wreath and it's easy to do! Just use circular plywood cut to form the wreath base and attach overlapping evergreen branches, then decorate using pinecones, ribbons, bells and other ornaments which can be obtained quite inexpensively through a local craft store. Then promote your wreaths after Church services, through school flyers, etc. These are great sellers!

(2) Sell Christian Tee Shirts: In our unbiased opinion, we do think selling Christian Tee Shirts makes a very nice and unique sale item that people really like and that will last! More info available here on selling Christian Tee Shirts for fundraising events.

(3) Cookbook Sales: These work great at our church and again it's a unique gift idea that will last and be used for years! Just collect the best recipes from your congregation (and everyone is always willing to contribute their best recipes), then find a local printer who will typically reduce their printing fee for a fundraising event based on the number of cookbooks ordered. This type of publishing has really come down in price and the cookbooks can be printed fairly inexpensively.

(4) Collect Used Printer Cartridges and Used Cell Phones: Although not a hand-crafted gift idea, this can be a quick way to raise funds by collecting these unused items (which doesn't cost anything) and selling them to companies who purchase then resell the products. For example, pacebutler and other companies will pay you per phone collected, and there are similar companies who purchase used printer cartridges such as freerecycling.

(5) Pancake Breakfasts: This is also a nice time to socialize with members of the congregation and more often others in the community that will come out for these events. It's also nice when the pastor is involved serving meals and helping out.

(6) Bake Sales: Here we also wanted to address a newer idea of selling cookie dough - we don't have this idea on our list because we don't think it's very personable and it's just kind of boring!! Instead, sell the finished product (i.e., have a bake sale and use some of the ideas from your cookbook sales discussed above). People will respond better to buying a cake or baked item than having to be stuck with cookie dough!

(7) Tree of Lights - Another Holiday Favorite: This is a beautiful idea where you have people pay $10 each for a light on your Church or community Christmas tree which could represent a loved one passed or other family member, perhaps someone overseas that they are thinking about, etc. Then the community or church lights the tree at a ceremony and all the lights come on with everyone in attendance. Makes a nice social event too.

We hope you've been inspired by some of the ideas, and for more information on selling Christian Tee Shirts for Fundraising events, you can find out more on our web site.

Bryan Johnson is the President and Co-Owner of BlueHeavenTees.com

Blue Heaven Tees offers innovative and unique Christian Tee Shirts, Christian Hoodies and Sweatshirts and other great Christian gift ideas. This is because unique fundraising ideas can make your fundraising activities more pleasurable as well as profitable.

Since the launch of various fundraising programs, raising money has not been difficult for many non-profit organizations and even some private sectors. With fundraising, people trust that they can usually generate an adequate quantity of funds or cash that they require by participating in different activities.

In many cases, fundraising programs are more often than not used by non-profit organizations. Unlike private ventures, non-profit organizations normally don't have enough capital to finance their operations. They apply diverse fundraising ideas. However, fundraising activities have been so often used by many organizations that assorted sectors who normally extend help might sometimes find the activity unworthy of the cause.

To establish distinction, it is advisable that organizations be creative and unique when it comes to fundraising ideas. They should think of ways that will both inspire and prompt people, groups, or other generous groups to answer to the said activity. So for those who want to think up with some unique community fund raising ideas to raise some money for their group, here are some tips that they have to live by:

1. Appeal to the emotions. It has always been a well-known fact that people and organizations do extend help to these charitable institutions not because they are invited to be heroes but because they pity those people who are involved in these institutions. For instance, people who donate money for some charitable institutions are mainly affected by their emotions. What they have seen or heard about people affiliated in these institutions could have touched their hearts. In short, it would be better to think up with unique community fund raising ideas that will have an appeal to the emotions.

2. Make it Functional. Unique community fund raising ideas may sound and may even look magnificent, but you should take note that the main role of the organization raising funds should always be the focal point of the whole activity. The problem with some community fund raising ideas is that they get too absorbed with the singularity of the idea that the main function of the plan is neglected.

3. Keep it Good. Your unique community fund raising ideas must always provide satisfaction to your sponsors as much as your organization can gain from it. Keep in mind that your community fund raising ideas must be unparalleled in the sense that your sponsors can still feel gratified with what they can give and know that their donations have been for a good cause.

Fundraising is a breeze with a great plan......and start with great Community Fund Raising Ideas. The short answer is - yes. However, it does take some proper planning and vision to make any campaign an easy fund raising project. Let's look at some good thoughts for you to create a fund raising campaign quickly.

One thing to make any plan an easy fund raising plan is to make sure you have a clear vision of your goals. Before you start trying to think up the greatest fund raising plan in the world you want to make sure you know what the purpose is. Hint - It is not just to raise money.

Most of the time a fund raising plan is designed with the thought process of how much money can we raise for our group or project. This will have you started on the wrong foot if you do it this way. If you have analyzed your area properly then you can much better match a good fund raising plan that will be easier to manage.

Look around and observe what people really have a passion for in your area. Sports and music are often the key components to a small town's chemistry. If you know what they love it will be much simpler to develop an easy fund raising project to meet the needs.

You can use any type of bake sale for an easy fund raising project or other simple activity. For added bonus you can enhance it with the theme of your area as mentioned above. Many people will support the cause just because you struck a chord with the popular theme of the area. This will tend to work better in smaller cities and communities but it can work in larger areas as well.

For more information on fundraising events and projects for your organization try visiting http://good-fundraising-ideas.com, a website that specializes in providing helpful tips, advice and fundraising resources to include Easy Fund Raising and more.

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tom_Turner

New And Unusual Fundraising Ideas

By Steven Gillman

Need some new fundraising ideas? When your organization or group needs to raise money for a trip or project, there is nothing wrong with another bake sale. Do something a little different, though, and you may get more volunteers for the event. You might also get more media exposure, meaning more people will participate, which means more money raised. Why not try one of the following ideas.

Mobile rummage sale. Having a rummage sale is a common fundraising idea, but how about a mobile rummage sale? It requires collecting donations of things to sell, and the cooperation of someone with a pick up truck. Sort the things as neatly as possible in the back of the truck, then go door-to-door, explaining to the residents that you are raising money for your cause, and asking them to take a look at your sale. Maybe they'll also want to donate things to sell. Take the sale to the beach or other busy places too.

Dog wash. A car wash is one of the most common fundraising ideas out there, but a dog wash is less common. Find a place where many people walk their dogs. A brush, dog shampoo, and a source of water are all you need. You could also sell dog toys, dog snacks and other pet-related things for even more profit.

Business clean-up. Many businesses need to have the area around them cleaned up. Restaurants might have trash around the edges of their parking lots, some businesses may need their signs washed, and others could need their sidewalks and lots swept. A crew of young people could clean up a property in an hour for a set fee, and the business could write off the contribution on their taxes.

Online donor recognition. When you collect donations for a project or regular event, you can promise donors that they'll be recognized on your group's official website. They get a bit of internet immortality as one of the people that made your event, trip or project possible. It is common that donors get their names put on a plaque, but the website is accessible to all their friends anywhere in the world, so they can show them how they helped.

Treasure hunt. This could be a big event, even an annual one if your organization needs a regular fundraising event. The basic idea: Rope off an area of a beach, bury silver bars and coins in the sand, and let people hunt for them for an entry fee. Let's say you bury 4 quarter-ounce gold coins, 20 one-ounce silver bars, 1000 various foreign coins (some coin shops sell these for ten cents each), 500 dimes and 2000 pennies. At today's prices it would cost you about $1,000, which you might first raise through donations. With 3524 coins, almost everyone would find something. 300 people paying $10 each would net your group $2,000, plus you could sell hotdogs and drinks during the event.

Except for the last one, these are all relatively cheap events to plan. Tell the papers about your plans, of course. The more unusual fundraising ideas are more likely to get some free press coverage.

Steve Gillman has been exploring new ideas for decades. However, Why is it over 80% of schools doing fundraising do not apply these principals? Maybe because most schools are train to focus on the wrong principals while choosing and planning a fundraiser.

Here are 5 secrets on school fundraising:

Secret #1 - Profit % Does Not Equate to Higher Profits.
A company offering 90% profit vs a company offering 20% profit is not better. Remember groups can not deposit % in the bank. But a group can deposit $1,000 in the bank. Most groups look at percentages as #1 priority. It does not mean percentage (%) is not important but it should not be the group's #1 priority. The group #1 priority should be to raise the HIGHEST PROFITS with the minimal volunteer work, stress and time!

Secret#2 - The Product You Sell Makes a Difference

Choosing the right product for sale makes a difference. However, it is not a the most important factor on having a successful fundraiser. As mentioned on the prior, both groups decided to sell cookie dough and sold them at the same exact price too. But the difference in their results (Profits) were HUGE! So it was not the product that made the difference. So what is it?

Secret #3 - Timing on the Fundraising is Very Important

Deciding when to start the fundraiser is super important. It is always known that the first group to go into an office or neighborhood to ask for orders in fundraising has higher chances of success than the following groups. However, timing is not the #1 reason why groups have successful fundraisers. As mentioned on the prior, both groups started at the same time but results (profits) were very different. So Timing was not the reason for the results! Main 2 secrets coming next...

Secret # 4- Person in Charge Of Fundraiser is Critical!

Maybe this is a pretty big reason why one group does well while other does not. The leadership and excitement on a fundraiser starts at the top. This means the person organizing the fundraising project is probably the single most important factor whether a fundraiser will be a success or failure. Sorry to give you this news but yes fundraising sponsor's have a very important responsibility and yes they can make or break a fundraiser. But the good news is now you are aware of the importance of your position as leader on a fundraiser! The next secret is probable the one most important and where most groups fail to do.

Secret # 5- Program Management is Number One

Both elementary schools had excellent leadership and both were excited. They both did everything they knew so WHY was there such a HUGE difference in results ($8,000 sales vs $15,500 in sales). Well here is the BIGGEST secret of all. Program Management is the most important element on having a Successful fundraiser. You may Say, "well I knew that." Yes you may know program management is critical but maybe the main problem is not many companies train the leaders or fundraising sponsors on proper Program Management.

The are several key elements on Program Management:

A) Setting Goals on Group and Individuals
B) Successful Kick Off
C) Maintain the Excitement During sale
D) Gather Other Good Volunteers to Help
E) Motivation of Student/Sellers
F) Motivation of Teachers and Staff members.

I would like to focus on the last two elements which are the main reason why some elementary sales are so much larger than others.

The most important factor for HIGH sales on a fundraiser is the motivation on student/sellers and the motivation of teacher/staff members at school.

The main reason why one elementary sold $8,000 while the other sold $15,500, was the way they did their prizes/incentives to students and teachers!

We at AIM have a saying "With proper motivation you can have students sell $5 bills for $10." So part of your job in fundraising will be to find out what truly motivates your student and teachers! This can have a dramatic impact on your fundraising sales!

Juan Franco is an fundraising expert who works for AIM Fundraising. Juan has worked with hundreds of elementary schools and well as many other youth groups, helping them in their fundraising projects. The idea is to attract a broad spectrum of the local population to your fundraiser by having something for everybody.

The benefit to the church is that many newcomers will form a very positive impression of your ministry and facilities that will in time translate into a larger congregation. And of course, there's all the wonderful things you can do with all the funds raised by your 'Feastival.'

Getting started

You'll need to arrange for carnival games, inflatable amusements, plenty of good food, live music, tickets, and all the other seemingly endless tasks any large fundraising event requires. Always divide and conquer - split up all the major tasks among your organizing committee and don't overload any one person.

Approach local businesses and prominent congregation members for help with signature food items such as barbecue, fish fry, corn on the cob, regional specialties like oysters or Cajun shrimp, etc. Getting these items donated instead of purchased adds tremendously to the bottom line.

For live music, work with a booking agent who can line up the right talent for a church fundraiser crowd. You want quality entertainment that won't offend while still encouraging young and old to join in the fun.

Fundraising tips

There are lots of ways to raise funds with a big event. You can include additional fundraising activities like a bake sale, a cake walk, face painting, craft sales, and various carnival games.

Auctions can raise incredible amounts if you have desirable goods and services for sale. Group together related smaller items into larger gift baskets and offer those through silent auction bids.
Do all that you can to make it easy to bid. Tape down bid sheets, pens, and descriptions next to each auction item. Make sure the descriptions are typed in large fonts so no one has to pull out their reading glasses to bid.

For large dollar value items, use a live auction format and a professional auctioneer when appropriate. People will donate unusual and valuable items for a good cause, so put the word out well ahead of time to friends and local businesses about your auction fundraiser.

Publicity tips

To draw a big crowd, you have to get the word out about what a great event your 'Feastival' will be. Use your newsletter and email lists to send reminders to mark the day and create a sense of anticipation well ahead of the event.

You can also use flyers, roadside signs, posters and other traditional methods of attracting attention. Placing carnival rides where they can be seen by passing traffic is another good way to create interest.

Most importantly, put together a press release and distribute it to all the newspapers, TV and radio stations in your market. Make sure you put the most newsworthy aspect of your fundraiser in the summary paragraph up top. Include pictures for use by newspapers and offer live broadcast spots to radio stations.

Church fundraiser wrap-up

Make your 'Church Feastival' an annual event by creating the most fun, family-oriented day of entertainment possible. Publicize your event well ahead of time and also put the word out about how to donate goods and services.

Contract for carnival rides and inflatable rentals like a Moonwalk or jump house. Arrange for great live entertainment and large quantities of excellent food. Saturday or Sunday afternoons work best and remember to allow plenty of space for people to just spread out and enjoy everything.

Make your 'Feastival' your best church fundraiser ever!

Kimberly Reynolds writes for national publications on fund raising topics such as school fundraising, having your own church fundraiser feastival and other church fundraising events.

Find more church fund raisers on her website, FundraiserHelp.com

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Kimberly_Reynolds
